Mr Moir's Headteacher Message
Parkwood Primary School. We hope that our webpage is a helpful window into the
life of the school and the children, staff, parents and governors who help to
make this such a special, unique and vibrant place to learn.
At Parkwood we
believe that learning never stops and that everyone in the school should be at
the centre of their own learning. From our youngest Foundation Stage pupils,
right up to our most ‘experienced’ members of staff!
mission statement is to ‘Imagine, Believe, Persevere and Achieve’.
· IMAGINE. We
want our children to have active and thoughtful imaginations. The gateway to
this, is often a healthy love of reading and books. This helps to be the spark
which gets the children thinking of big things. Dreaming up ideas and having
high hopes in their learning, but also their lives. We want our children to aim
· BELIEVE. In
order to do this and through our active, concept-based curriculum, we want them
to have the inner strength and resilience to believe in themselves. At Parkwood
we will do all we can to help them believe and to recognise what a unique child
every child is but also that every individual can contribute to the team around
· PERSERVERE. As
we feel hard work generally does better than talent which doesn’t work hard, we
want our children to persevere, to keep trying and keep building, to get to
where they want to go in their learning and in life. Mistakes are the first
step on the journey to success. Sometimes children need a helping hand to make
their life-chances fair and their hard work will be supported in lots of ways,
by our outstanding staff when they need it. Inclusion means everyone.
· ACHIEVE. By
working together, by using our imaginations, believing in ourselves and each
other and persevering and asking for help, when the bumps appear in the road,
everyone can achieve.
We really love
our school. We hope you will to. Welcome to Parkwood.
