WELCOME BACK TO A NEW TERM, FOR THE CHILDREN WHO ARE REMOTE LEARNING AND THOSE IN SCHOOL. WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON THE NEXT STEPS FOR THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
   Welcome to Foundation Stage!

We are really excited about the year ahead and look forward to helping  the children grow in confidence, develop their curiosity and make sense of the world around them. We recognise that little people learn best when they are active and that this learning involves other people, objects, ideas and events. Therefore, we believe that Early Years education should be as practical as possible and our EYFS setting has an ethos of learning through play.

Reading at Home

Please make sure your child brings in their Reading Record and reading book in every Friday, in a plastic wallet.  Your child will will bring this wallet home on a Monday, with their new book in.  Please remember to record in the log every time you share a book together.

 Learning Key Words at Home

The children are very excited to have started their learning journey with Rolo!  We are spending time reinforcing Sets 1 and 2 over the past few weeks.  We will be introducing Set 3 words this week.

Remember, once your child has learned to read these words it is time to have a go at learning to write them.  Rolo has stickers ready for the children to celebrate their successes!

Key Word Books - please bring in your pink 'key words' book on:
Goslings - Wednesdays
Cygnets - Thursdays
Owlets - Fridays

We will be checking each week to see how your child is getting on learning to read (and write) these words.  Please do what you can at home to help your child have the best start in their reading journey, by learning these words thoroughly.  Please do email us if you need further information or support with this.
